Popular Science magazine listed the SRT Power Chiller on its list of best of What's New for 2017. The Power Chiller is one of the technological advances that makes the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon one of the fastest production cars on the market.

So what is a Power Chiller? The technology works like this. In Drag Mode the 6.2 liter HEMI Demon V8, which just the name alone sounds fast, uses a dedicated liquid circuit to cool air after it leaves the 2.7-liter supercharger. Refrigerant cools the air and since cooler air is denser and contains more oxygen. Cool air contains more molecules than warm air which adds more fuel to the engine. More fuel means more power.

"The Best of What's New awards honor the innovations that shape the future," says Joe Brown, Editor in Chief, Popular Science. "From life-saving technology to incredible space engineering to gadgets that are just breathtakingly cool, this is the best of what's new."
