The popular compact SUV was the first vehicle introduced by the brand as a plug-in hybrid. Wranglers retain their iconic styling, and the hybrid upgrade does not interfere with the vehicle's ability to offer off-road fun. Four different trim levels and optional packages enable consumers in the area to customize the Wrangler to appeal to their needs.
All Wrangler models on display at our Fresno area facility have 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines that accompany two electric motors powered by a 17-kilowatt battery pack. The setup enables the SUV to produce 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. However, a slight tweak in the Rubicon drivetrain ups the power output to 392 horsepower. Each vehicle also has an automatic eight-speed transmission and Jeep's Selec-Trac® Full-Time all-wheel-drive System.
Overall, the vehicle has a combined fuel economy rating of 49 miles per gallon equivalent and can travel over 20 miles on electric power alone with a fully charged battery. When equipped with the appropriate towing accessory, Wrangler pulls up to 3,500 pounds.
Wrangler's exterior remains easily recognizable thanks to the rounded headlights, slotted grille, and protruding bumper. A pair of LED fog lights enhance nighttime driving visibility when driving. The SUV retains its overall boxy design that includes four removable doors. However, consumers can equate their new Wrangler with either a removable soft roof, a hard roof, or a multi-sectioned powered roof. The wide wheel wells are high-cut to accommodate rugged or back-road terrain. Modern features include power-adjustable and heated side mirrors. All around, the windows are tinted for indoor, daytime comfort.
Metallic framed and rounded gauges and HVAC vents hint at retro style. Otherwise, the dashboard features upscale contrast stitching along the three-dimensional features that house the entertainment and climate control systems. Wrangler's base interior accommodates up to five passengers on the fabric upholstered seats, which may be upgraded to have leather trim. A heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather shifting knob are also available. The vehicle's rear area provides 27.7 cubic feet of space that extends to 67.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Both front seats also fold flat when needed.
You don't just get a powerful Hybrid Powertrain; every Wrangler 4xe has an automatically dimming rearview mirror is a convenient option to prevent temporary nighttime blindness. Each infotainment system has a seven-inch touch-screen display. However, the systems may be upgraded to feature an 8.4-inch display, HD radio, and navigation ability. The units all come with premium sound systems and enable smartphone integration for hands-free phone usage.
Consumers also have the advantage of a trial subscription to 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hot Spot connectivity. Two USB ports keep mobile devices powered. Front and rear 120-volt electrical outlets are also standard. For cold weather convenience, owners may opt to add the remote engine start ability.

Other safety features include tire air pressure monitoring and roll, sway, and traction control. Optional safety add-ons include adaptive cruise control with a start/stop fuel-efficient functions.
When sensors detect potential front-end danger, drivers receive a warning, and emergency braking assistance should the need arise. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts help prevent collisions from the side or the rear.
